Wind Creek State Park is an Alabama state park located south of Alexander City. The park occupies that includes(missing shoreline linear measurement) shoreline along the northern portion of Lake Martin, a clear-water reservoir on the Tallapoosa River. Wind Creek offers camping, swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking, playgrounds, and trails for hiking and equestrian use. ==Activities and amenities== *Camping: Wind Creek lays claim to managing the largest state-owned campground in the United States, with over 600 camping sites, nearly one-third of which are on the water. There are also seven cabins available year around. *Fishing: The park hosts fishing competitions such as the American Bass Angler Association Fishing Tournament and Georgia Glenn AT&T Pioneer Fishing Tournament. *Events: Other events include Indian festivals and skiing/wake-boarding shows. *Playgrounds and activities: The park contains six playgrounds, a lighthouse and other sights. Children's activities, such as crafts, are sometimes available. *Geocaching: There are a number of geocaches around Wind Creek on Lake Martin. *Hiking and biking: Two hiking trails total in length. *Cliff jumping: Chimney Rock is about 20 minutes south of Wind Creek and is only accessible by boat.
